Change is the name of the game for the 2009 Husqvarna SM450R and SM510R as the lessons learned from wins on World Championship Supermoto tracks make their way directly to production machines. Engineers have completely redesigned the frame with new levels of rigidity to improve handling and give the rider a much better feel for the bike. Cosmetically, 2009 graphics adorn the white racing number panels on the sides and white front number plate houses a new headlamp unit and a smaller digital display. The aerodynamic front fender is also new. Still on the subject of looks, the wheels are black anodized Excel rims. The exhaust system has twin aluminum silencers that create a very special sound, reduce overall noise levels and improve performance. The new 450 and 510 engines also have new cam chain tensioners, a new lubrication system for the con rod bearings and a new filter for prolonged bearing life.
